| Since the omake readers are reading this thread, some further explanations of names are provided after the Volume 3 omake in the printed volume: Ichijo Asato, aka "Ichio" (Ichijo Takuma's grandfather) Ichijo can mean a 'ray' or 'streak.' Asato's first name is composed of asa, meaning 'hemp' or 'flax,' and tou, meaning 'far off.' His nickname is ichi, or 'one,' combined with ou, which can be used as an honorific when referring to an older man. Yori-chan Yori means 'trust.' In the Japanese version, Yuki uses the suffix '-chan' when referring to her best friend to show familiarity. Seiren Sei means 'star' and ren means 'to smelt' or 'refine.' Ren is also the same kanji used in rengoku, or 'purgatory.' Toya Rima Toya means a 'far-reaching arrow.' Rima's given name is a combination of ri, or 'jasmine,' and ma, which signifies enhancement by wearing away, such as by polishing or scouring. Kurenai Maria Kurenai means 'crimson.' The kanji for the last a in Maria's given name is the same as that used in 'Asia.' And for the Omake after Chapter 14, "Pokyu (the sound Zero makes when swiftly departing the Academy) is used to describe the sound of light, cute footsteps, like those of a child." Tee hee, "pokyu pokyu" Bye bye Zero!

Omakes are a very good way of seeing the "other" side of the characters..It's not a waste of space actually.

| They hadn't provided them in the second volume whose omake I scanned, but I found them in the back of my third volume when I flipped through to be sure the translators hadn't missed an omake there.

| Well that was kinda rude. If you don't like the omakes then don't read them but keep in mind that people have taken the time out to scan and translate them, because weirdly enough, other people read them. I enjoy them quite abit. I enjoy anything VK. And even if I didn't I would never insult the person who took the time out to do all that. If it wasn't for them scanning and translating them, we wouldn't be able to read Vampire Knight in english. So Kudos to the one who scans and translates the manga and even the omakes. ![]() |
