Question Leader of the Hunter Association

Okay, I've been looking everywhere to see if there is another thread discussing this mysterious figure and I found nothing...and there is something that has bothered me for some time now that I need to get out there.....

The Hunter's Association Leader....looks like a woman...and was called "she" in the newest chapter in my Shojo Beat magazine.....

But when we first see her/him in the anime it is clearly a man's voice. Has anyone else noticed?!?!? I looked at the Japanese Wikipedia page for Vampire Knight and the person who voiced the character is Masami Kikuchi. A man.

Now, I know sometimes that to get a certain effect that they have used a person of the opposite gender to voice characters before...but this one is a man, who sounds "manly", and cannot be mistaken for a woman. At least thats what I thought the instant I heard him. Not just a woman with a deep voice, or anything else. A man.

So, ultimately...not only do I wonder about what this person's motivations are (what does s/he want, why does s/he side with Rido, etc), I'm terribly confused on whether this person is a man or a woman. And if I remember correctly, every Japanese chapter I read has never referred to the gender of this person in any way. Why????? What is Hino-sensei doing? Is there a reason for this? Will we find out more about this person soon? Why did Shojo Beat say "she"? Will we ever know?

Yes, some of that at the end is meant to be a bit funny. I couldn't help it. But overall, I'm serious about this. Please, if you know something, or caught something I missed, please help me and tell me it. It's driving me nuts. I actually had to re-watch the whole scene from the anime where Kurosu is talking to this person because I was so surprised when I heard the voice. I thought I had the wrong show for a second. If it is a man, why does he wear only traditional women's clothing I wonder. And why has no other hunter seemed distressed? Do they know? Am I the only one who doesn't? *笑*
