So, the Chairman is a vampire?!

From what he said, that seems to be the case; and I'm really shocked.

In Chapter 39: 27-28,

Chairman: "There are vampires who hide their identities from society. But I... I wanted to show to the important people in our world that not all the vampires are frightening. I didn't want to use underhanded strategies to achieve this. I wanted them to see us eye to eye."

Toga: "It's a shame that you couldn't accomplish your final goal."

Chairman" No, I haven't given up the hope that the unspoken rule, 'There is no right or wrong; killing vampires is not a sin,' will be nulled. But right now, there is something I have to do."

The reasons why I think he is: "But I... I wanted" right after he talks about vampires hiding their identity, and after he says "I wanted them to see us eye to eye," and that last line wouldn't make sense if he were a human or hunter. Further, the way he was drawn and that thing around his neck starting to move were further signs to me.

What do you think he's going to do now?

I'm sure he plans to fight, but I think he also has a larger part to play and can't imagine what he intends.

Do you think he's a pure-blood? I think so.

Yes, the 'important people' are the vampire hunters, but then he says, "I wanted them to see us eye to eye." "Them" must refer to the important people, and then the Chairman says "see us", which only makes sense if he's a vampire. He would say, "I wanted us to see eye to eye" if he meant he and the important vampire hunters, placing himself in the group with the hunters. Granted, there could be an error in the translation, but the structure of the sentence argues against that.

i seen in the anime and it said that headman cross was a famous vampire hunter!!

Yes, but that doesn't preclude him from being a vampire. Look at Zero (although he didn't willingly become a vampire).

Also, anime does not = manga. They often change things significantly for the anime. I can't say for certain for VK since I haven't yet seen the anime, but it is extremely likely.

i agree. there's a lot of things i am thinking of right now, and the possibility of Chairman Cross being a vampire is one of them. I do agree on the part where he says "sees us eye to eye." if he's not a vampire, then why would he use "us?" he's say "see them eye to eye" Maybe that's also the reason why he wanted humans and vampires to coexist, because he's a vampire himself and he believes in peace between humans and vampires!! I hate it when things are not clear!

Yes, and it just seems strange that he'd mention vampires who hide their identities if he didn't mean himself. We haven't met anyone who conceals his vampire identity that would make that remark have any meaning if not the Chairman. Rido concealed that he was alive, but not his identity, so the Chairman couldn't have meant him.

Yeah. I do think that the Headmaster is a vampire though, because his eyes turned red. He also said the whole mumbo-jumbo of other stuff about being eye-to-eye.
