Binktopia has recently announced that they will begin watermarking their releases due to the blatant disregard for proper accreditation the scanlating group has recieved from certain sites.

Binktopia has long held the policy that their cleaned scans are free for international groups to use as long as they are credited for the work. A rash of groups not doing so elicited a strong warning in Binktopia's releases two weeks ago.

The situation came to a head once Binktopia contacted a site named Bleachexile for hosting their, and other groups, releases without permission. The site responded by removing every credit page from every release available.

The slap in the face led Binktopia to begin watermarking their latest releases. Most noticeably the new Bleach chapter Pendulum 5.

I haven't met a person who likes watermarking but I think Binktopia is in the right in this regard. They work hard and for free to deliver good manga and only ask for their proper credit in return. It is a shame that things had to turn out this way due to the actions of a few but that is the situation that we find ourselves in. For those of you who upload manga to this site I ask that you please remember to enter the scanlators name if you know it. It might seem like a small thing but it is a sign of respect that their group's name is attached to their work and it doesn't just say N/A next to a chapter.

That is so unfair for the scanlation group since we're getting all of these wonderful releases from them. The only way we can help them is to credit their work and that motivates them from translating the manga. I actually noticed the watermark when i read the latest release of bleach and i thought to myself that something happened to make them change the way they credit their works. Thankfully they will still continue releasing manga.

Oh my.
That's horrible.
But in my opinion I cant blame them. People are blatantly being rude by not crediting the scanlators in their hard work.
However, does this mean that we won't be hosting anymore Binktopia works in here?

I've just sent Binky a PM over at MangaShare in regards to this.

BleachExile are a bunch of bastards, it's a shame really, they had a pretty decent site.

Mou~ I don't blame them at all. BleachExile was cruel, honestly.

The thing is, once they start watermarking, wouldn't it mean that we (or even, anyone) can use their scans again? o.o

Hopefully they can resolve this sometime. They do quality work and were it to be gone forevver from Mangafox would be a shame.

They're also speedy, which is a -really- good factor, but now we'll have to wait for other sources. u.u

After all the grudges come to a rest or some form of peace, they may open up again. We'll probably contact them again, if/when that time comes. :3

Binktopia was really good with their scans and according to me, has very good quality scans
their also speedy and all they want in return is credit!!! thats a really good reason too!! who wouldnt want to be credited for their own work? seriously F******* ********* BleachExile!!! I don't even like the bleach manga!!!
