Before Creating a Thread

Follow the general forum rules.

Keep in mind, this forum is only for discussion of the manga. Other discussion goes elsewhere according to topic (e.g. Anime Discussion, Otaku Talk, Help Desk, etc.)

Avoid double-posting, which is prohibited in the MF Forum Rules, and streamline your posts. Please multi-quote and edit your replies. See the help desk thread for instructions.

Read the other threads in the forum before posting new ones, including the stickied threads at the top (e.g.). Often we've already been discussing your interest or have answered your questions about the manga.

Would you like suggestions for a new manga? Post a request here instead of in a manga's forum.

Requesting for Updates

Manga Fox is a hosting site. We do not scanlate manga. Accordingly, we do not know the exact release dates and can only upload more chapters if a scanlation group has released them.

If a title is being uploaded on a regular basis, be it weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, you don't need to request updates. The series will be updated when new chapters are available.

To check whether a manga has new chapters/updates, go to Manga Updates. Search for your manga and take a look at all the scanlated chapters. If more chapters have been released than are posted on Manga Fox, you may request it to be uploaded here.

Our uploads come from members, so if you are displeased with the time it takes for chapters to be uploaded, find and upload them yourself. Otherwise, do not post a thread in this forum requesting for updates. Do not inquire when a chapter will be updated or translated either, check Manga Updates to determine an estimate.

Major Problems with a Manga

- a manga is duplicated
- a manga is missing scanlated chapters
- a chapter is duplicated
- a chapter is missing pages
- a chapter contains raw scans
- a chapter has double pages
- a manga contains chapters from a different manga
- pages of a manga are not in order

All of the above are major problems with a manga and should not be posted about in this forum. If you wish to help Manga Fox, post in the appropriate thread. Our staff and members will fix it as soon as possible.

Minor Problems with a Manga

- a manga is named wrong
- a manga's summary seems wrong or can be bettered
- a chapter's number is wrong
- a chapter's name is wrong
- a manga is not completed/is completed but is labeled to the contrary

All of the above are minor problems and can be fixed by anyone. Use the edit button and submit a request. It will be reviewed and if need be, fixed.

Advertising

Posting a link to another manga hosting site similar to Manga Fox is strictly prohibited. All posts of these nature will be deleted or edited.

Posting a link to another site with manga downloads is also prohibited. All threads asking for these type of sites will be closed with a link directing you to our sister site, animeEDEN.

Posting and asking links for raw scans are allowed.
All other sites, as long as they don't conflict with rule #6 of the forum is allowed.

Problems with Adds on Mangafox

Alright. There seems to be a whole lot of fuss regarding new members who -do not- read the series request rules before posting a new request.

This is a quick step-to-step guide on how our "Series Requests" works - and as an announcement, I'm expecting this to be read and understood.

1. Firstly, you may have noticed this lovely forum:

It's tempting to start a new thread in there, isn't it? Well, don't. Instead, read the stickied threads (the ones at the top) and get to know the rules first.

This is particularly important. It also includes a link to the Step-to-Step Guide For Uploading Manga and the Series Update Request Thread.

3. If you're interested in requesting -new- series, this thread is the place to go: http://www.mangafox.com/forums/manga...ew-series.html

Read it through and through. It should then link you to the New Series Request Thread, where you post your request(s). Be sure that your forum post count falls -within- the maximum number of series you're allowed to request in within a month. So if you only have 10 posts, you're only allowed one new series request per month. And so on and so forth.

Hopefully it should be a little clearer now.

[Glitch]

1. No Spamming - Any post that is not relevant to the thread is considered spam. One-liner responses such as "Yeah I agree" are also spam. Threads that aren't specific to any other board should go in Otaku Talk. Spam goes in the spam section.
2. No Double Posts - However, if there is some new information worth posting and it has been 24 hours since the last post then you may post again.
3. No Necroing - Necro posting is the act of posting on an old thread. If you have new information that is of vital importance or meaningful comments that can promote discussion, then you may post. Generally, any thread that has been inactive for over a month should be considered old. Also, duplicating threads without good reason is even more evil than necroing.
4. No Flaming or Trolling - Flaming means insulting another member, and trolling is posting something with the deliberate intent of provoking flames.
5. Advertising - Keep it to sigs!
6. No Offensive Material - This includes material that is racist, pornographic, etc. Children visit this forum so we do not allow content - textual, graphical, or otherwise - that depicts sexual activity or extreme violence. Keep things PG-13.
7. No Illegal Activity - This includes requesting/providing copyrighted software, games, movies, etc, and ecouraging others to break the law. Do not attempt to pass someone elses work (e.g. graphics or creative writing) off as your own. Rippers will be permanently banned.
8. Signatures and Avatars Keep them to a sensible size. Nothign that stretches the forum frame or takes 10minutes to scroll pass. Watch the filesize too! Think of the dial-ups ;_;

Lastly, staff members reserve the right to take action against you or ban you at any time if they feel your behaviour is detrimental to the forum, whether it is covered by a specific rule or not.
