What posistions need filling?

Section Moderators: (3-4 positions)

We're in need of some more Section Moderators, you will have seen them around here and there with their light orange names. Section Moderators are assigned a specific area or specific areas of the forum to moderate (i.e. Otaku Talk). We are looking to recruit about 3 or 4 more section mods to look after the "Avaliable Manga Series" area as it's quite large, however other areas may be assigned if need be.

Quality Control: (5 positions)

This is a new staff position created specifically to manage the incoming and existing manga chapters here on MangaFox. All members of the staff have acess to MangaFox's "backend" in which we approve/deny/edit incoming and existing manga chapters or information edits, this may include approving the latest chapter of Naruto onto our servers, denying a corrupt or questionable chapter or changing information/chapter names/chapter numbers so they're correct. The problem encountered here is all existing staff (i.e. Admins, Super Mods and Mods) also have forum duties to worry about (closing threads, monitoring users, etc.). This is where Quality Control comes in, they have the specific task of managing things in "backend", whilst forum staff will continue to manage "backend" as well, Quality Control will be able to pick up the slack and make things run a lot more smoothly in terms of manga content.

What are we looking for?

Section Moderators:

We need people who are willing to dedicate a sufficient amount time to MangaFox, you will need to know the rules and obide by them. High forum activity is a must. You need to be firm in your decisions and you can't be afraid of looking like the bad guy from time to time. As we're looking to put you all in "Avaliable Manga Series" it would be advantageous if you frequent that area.

Quality Control:

You too will need to be able to provide ample time to MangaFox. Forum activity is not required as your job is site-side only, however you will need to visit the forums from time to time in order to stay up-to-date with staff news. You will need to know what's what with manga and be ready to cross-check information/scans if you're not sure if the chapter is approvable or not (most of the time however it requires a quick flick over the scans and then pressing "Approve").

How do I apply, and what should I include?
The application process is simple, all you need to do is PM me expressing your interest in a staff position (state which one you would like), how much time you think you will be able to dedicate to MangaFox, and why you think you're right for the job. Examples could include, but are not limited to, your undying love for manga, how awesome you think this site is and how you want to be a part of making it better, the fact that you have a massive post count, perhaps you visit MangaFox everyday, previous forum/website staff experience (very advantageous), or simple how great you think I am. Your application can be as short or as long as you want, just be yourself.

What happens then?
After I close applications (which will be when I feel I have a sufficient amount of applicants), I will select the best X amount of applications and then present them to our existing staff, where we will then select the best of the best and they will be recruited to MangaFox's staff team (lucky them!).

Section moderators will be given powers over the entire "Avaliable Manga Series" forum. From there it is up to the idividual to choose where to moderate and where not to. Some people like to moderate their favourite series, others like to just check up on new threads posted in any sub-forum and make sure nothing is out of place in them.

Such details will be discussed in more depth with the users who end up being recruited.

What I would like to see with the section mods on the Series list is to spend maybe a few minutes scrolling down and if they see a thread title that catches their eye to stop and look at it.

While manga staff may be interesting, I doubt I have hanged around mangafox long enough to even be considered for a position.

May I make a suggestion

After your first or second elimintaion of nominees, why don't you make a whole new separate thread called "Future Possible Staff" in which would list possible candidates and what position they are applying, like: "charchar - otaku talk... sailor hinata - new manga request" etc...

Then when you post the list up, allow the community of mangafox to give their nomination to a person AND to give a reason why they would be good for the position. For example:

A Good Example
"Sailor Hinata would be perfect for the new manga request section because not only she frequents the site, she also is one of the top 5 contributors and often warns abusers/rule breakers and often request for new series to be uploaded on the site."

A Bad Example
"Sailor Hinata because she's just cool." (Doesn't really gives a wide view).

This should help you in making a decision with the aid of the mangfafox community. After a few days, you can make a 2nd or 3rd elimination and make a new thread with the surviving candidates and get people's opinion on them.

This way, you can freely look at how other people see the nominees and helps you see them in a non-biased way, while aiding you in your decision. The final decision of course, rests in the final administration. These opinions are of course only to help you find the right person but does not mean it's a popularity contest. It just helps broaden the view.

This may seem a bit sketchy, but in total, the mangafox community's maturity level may help this plan to suceed.

lol everyone wants to be a mod haha i already spoke to rebirth about quality control thanks for the heads up i still help out where i can in the forums as im online almost 24/7 im just happy to help pick up the slack.

i think the idea above seems like a good idea but i kinda disagree alot applicants will be people who spend alot of time on manga fox or help out here or there in someway. most of these people will have already had contact with some if not most of the mangafox staff. In the end the mods are to choose people they feel comfortable working with and think are reliable. so i dont think that the mangafox comunnity should have much of a say in this as they are not the ones who will work with the other staff members. this may seem biased but at the end of the day being liked or disliked has nothing to do with doing your job as a mangafox staff member.
