I'm not sure if it is hard to do or not, but like in Baka Updates, I was wondering if you could possibly select the genres you do not want so that you can avoid it, as well as selecting genres you do want. For example, I wanted it Shoujo and romance, but I wanted to avoid Mature.

me too like want sports and school life but no romance. it would really helpful if they did this

The title is pretty self-explanatory, but basically I think it would be useful if we could have a feature on the search engine that allows us to keep the search from bringing up certain items. For example, put an X feature on Drama and a Check on Action so that all your titles that are brought up are Action, and none of them feature the Drama rating. This way people can more accurately find what they're looking for. If there is a way to do this already than I feel kind of embarrassed and humbly request that you inform me of how to do it

I've merged two threads so Edward Wise was referring to the title of his thread, which I merged with yours. I also edited your thread title.

Ah, yeah, I thought that was a great idea.. in fact, yesterday, I thought that I could check all the genres I wanted, so I selected that... but it didn't work. @_@ That was when I figured out you can only search specific genres, which stinks. >_<

The problem, as you know, is the search format is completely wrong for the sort of search you wanted because it searches for "all" tags you check and not "any and all". I don't think it is possible to set up the sort of searcher you'd like and not change the entire format of the engine, but if we have a "do not include" function, you can just exclude everything save your desired genres and then get the results you desire.

I brought the suggestion to the attention of the other mods / admins. It has already been proposed before, and we're still considering it.

I want to suggest if the search by genre could also feature an exclude genre too. For example, I don't like shonen-ai, yaoi, shoujo-ai, yuri, ecchi, mature, smut etc. I was wondering if Mangafox could include a search system like the genre search at manga updates Baka-Updates Manga - Series It would be extremely useful and save a lot of time when you already know that the manga genre(s) you don't like are already excluded.
