This was a fun idea I had that I thought might be interesting. Ever since I started reading mangafox Naruto Uzumaki has been the site's title character. His image is plastered just about on the top of every page.

While Naruto is an iconic character from a very popular manga I'm kind of tired of seeing his mug. My idea is this:

Gather some images of everyones favorite characters from different mangas and alternate one each week/month or whatever. I read on another thread that someone wanted a featured manga feature that has a random recommendation. I think this can tie into that. For example we have Saya on the main page and under a box of some sort says from "Blood: the last Vampire" a visitor sees the art, likes it, and checks out the title. We could create and maintain a thread for the purpose of selecting characters.

I think this would be fun to change the look of the site just a bit. If you'd like a better idea of what I'm thinking of check out DaTorrents their anime banners change as you navigate through the site. It looks really neat.

However, with this would you make a poll to determine which character to use or would it be totally random as previously suggested?

We'd use a poll to determine which pool of characters to use. It'd take too long to make a poll for every single one. So what I'll do is create a thread and have polls on individual manga with the criteria being that a suitable image for the banner can be found/made with the character.

Kanda would win the D. Gray Man bracket and be added to the pool. Then we have another poll for say-

Bleach and the process repeats itself and the mangafox/s community favorite character gets to represent their manga on the banner.

That'd be neat but from my experience it'd be really hard to get submissions. It'd be cool to have a fan art section though.

I really like this idea!! its cool!
we should also sometime change the colors of the homepage from green to blue or something to match the mascot because the normal colors like green, yellow, and orange dont always match every mascot so we whould also put in some background colors
example:

Naruto mascot: green and yellow and orange


also, we should make a shoutbox in the homepage or somewhere.
and with the mascot person, we should also put a little moving animal or something
like an acessory

I'm not sure.....so we basically need a photoshop expert to make the banner......i like the idea but i think it's a lot of work
