Default Available Manga Series Forum

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but isn't it ridiculous to have that many subforums in one forum without any organization? The page load time it causes is really a hassle too. Wouldn't it make sense to create a few smaller forum categories under the larger "Available Manga Series" forum and split and group all the different mangas into new subforums. Possible groupings could be by manga genre, or by target audience (shounen, etc) or even just alphabetic order (i.e. Manga Series A-C, Mangas D-H, etc).

So rather than having one large subforum and 200 manga subforums in it, you could have one large subforum, maybe 5-6 subsubforums by category, and 40 subsubsubforums in each of the categories.

I'm not sure that vBulletin supports subsubsubforums or even subsubforums. This is the layout that manga.dreamer planned, and it's quite good. After all, you could always bookmark the section that you visit often.

Also, people tend to browse the forum randomly to find new manga series to view. If you sort it by the alphabet, it reduces the chance of finding a good manga to read.

Also, let me point out that the Available Manga Series section is a forum, not a subforum.

No.

This is how manga.dreamer set it up, this is how it will remain. Anyone tasked with the job of trying to organize that monstrosity... Well I wouldn't envy them to say the least.

Well, it was a suggestion, mostly because it IS, as you say, a monstrosity. But obviously there's nothing to be done if no one wants to take the job, and I don't really blame them, since running /moderating a forum is all volunteer work. Although shooting down my idea for that reason is a lot more preferable than simply saying "manga.dreamer said so". Sort of negates the purpose of a suggestions section if suggestions that change the original format of the site are disregarded simply because they change the original format of the site.

a) Loki, you're so mean to newbies. -________-

b) maha, basically your solution is lovely, I'd say. The problem is carrying it out. If you've noticed, most of the forums aren't even in alphabetical order in the first place, and aligning them in a vbulletin panel manually is pretty hard, since there are no plug-ins which help do the task. x.x; Also, categorising all of them into groups of "A-O" and "P-Z" would be pretty hard, since it -might- mess up the structure (each forum is linked to their respect manga, and putting them into another subforum/category -might- mess up the organization. That's the problem, so for now, it's really very hard to touch. The most anybody can do for now is Ctrl+F and hope for the best.

"Available Manga Series" isn't the subforum. A subforum is a forum in a forum. The sections on the main page of the forum are called Categories. The links under each category are called forums. You should get the idea.
